Refocusing

Well it's the end of editor's day weekend here at SCAD.  I'm very glad it's over just from a perspective of taking a break.  I learned quite a bit from the editors I visited.  I'm very appreciative of Dave Johnson and Bob Shreck. They inspired me to push myself harder and force myself to work as hard as I can to become the best artist I can be, whether it is being a comic book artist, cartoonist, illustrator, etc.

From now on my focus is just on my work.  It's all I want to give my attention to.  I always have a bad habit of distracting myself from my art, either as an excuse to protect myself from my own shortcomings or just being lazy.  I'm going to have to force myself to draw things I can't draw well, using tools I've never used before and learning things that are not in my repertoire.  It's very exciting.

Speaking of which, this little banner is something I've been working on for a while and haven't completed due to the excuses I mentioned earlier.  This is coming to an end!  I'm going to make myself work on this as hard as I can.  I can't tell you when it's going to be online, but I am definitely going to write and draw my heart all summer until I know I can get it out there and it's good enough for people to enjoy.

I'm excited, I'm driven, and I'm scared out of my mind.  I wouldn't have it any other way.
